Addicus got another glowing review today along with a solid 4/5 score. This time from granddaddy of Mac magazines, Macworld. Here’s a sample:
Overall, Addicus is simple to play, cool to look at, and yet challenging enough to keep you coming back again and again. Not many games manage to look and feel so childlike while still engaging adults who haven’t done addition drills in years. Addicus is a perfect way to pass time on a bus or in a waiting room, if you can keep your swearing under control.
You might have heard that Addicus was one of the Hot New Games this week. It is also being featured in the New & Noteworthy section of iTunes Games as we speak!
To celebrate, we’re putting Addicus on sale for the weekend. For this weekend only, you can get Addicus for the ultra-low price of $0.99.
What better way to spend the weekend than by kicking back and challenging a friend to a round of fast and furious mushroom-popping on your iPhone?
Addicus got its first review today and Pocket Gamer did the honours. It scored a 7 and was bestowed a Bronze award! Money quote:
Rounding out the release – a debut for Canadian start up Get Set Games – is the game’s bouncy presentation, with colourful graphics and upbeat music combining to make Addicus a nice little package.
While Addicus is awaiting approval in the app store, here is the official trailer for you to chew on. And how about a little info on the game itself:
Addicus is a number based puzzle game with an emphasis on fast-paced action and gorgeous graphics. It’s one of those games that is easy to learn but impossible to master which translates into nothing short of addictive.
The goal of the game is to add up to target numbers by tapping on jiggly numbered mushrooms. Sound simple? Try doing that in a race against the clock. And then try doing it in a challenge against your friends on Facebook.
Here are some of the other features:
Multipliers and chain bonuses
Dozens of additional uber-secret bonuses
Overdrive mode for crazy hi-scores
Openfeint-enabled, part of the largest iPhone game community
Online worldwide leaderboards
Compete against your friends on Facebook and Twitter
We are really excited to unleash our first game into the world. Stay tuned to find out when it is available!
