Mega Jump Update 13 Now Available – Pepper the Penguin and More!

Mega Jump Update

Mega Jump’s thirteenth update was just approved by Apple and it is now available for download on the App Store. Full text of the update log below:

Hey Mega Jumpers! Thanks again for making Mega Jump one of the most popular iOS games on Earth! Your support and feedback has meant the world to us. Now get ready for another huge update! Here’s what is new in Mega Jump Update 13:

New Character: Pepper!

  • Who says penguins can’t fly? Pepper just wants to stretch her wings and reach higher than any penguin has before!
  • You asked for it: we made this character based on another very successful Facebook poll!

Backup All of Your Progress to OpenFeint!

  • Thanks to some fantastic advances from OpenFeint, we’re now able to backup your progress, unlocked items and Mega Points to your OpenFeint account!
  • If you haven’t already created an OpenFeint account, do it now in the settings menu!
  • Never lose your progress again!

And More!

  • The game now performs better on all devices!
  • Fixed the stuttering problem when no internet connection is present!

    I can’t even seem to be able to use openfeint with megajump. It’s shown as offline. How do I make it online?

    I deleted and reinstalled my game to test the openfeint backup.
    BUT NOW ALL MY DATA IS GONE! HOW DO I RESTORE IT?
    The first time I loaded the game, there was an error in enabling openfeint. It said to restart the app. But when I restarted it, the message doesn’t appear! And the openfeint in the settings says offline.

    Hi Chebby. We are aware of some issues that the backup system is having and we’re working hard to fix the problem. We’ll post more information when we have it.

    It may be that the servers are having problems keeping up with the number of Mega Jump players downloading the new update. We’re looking into the issue right now and hope to have it resolved as soon as possible.

    Hi David. Sorry about that .We have pulled the update from the App store while we try and fix the problems with the latest update. As soon as we have a fix, we will resubmit it to Apple.

    Sorry, I didn’t want to make it look like I wrote 3 replies here in a very short time. So I just made up that name and wrote as that.
    In reality, I installed the game on an other iPhone, played it for 10 minutes, and deleted it to test the backup.
    All I really lost is about 5000 megapoints. So don’t worry about me.

    Mega jump seems to have dissapeared off the canadian app store, and i havent updqted ot yet do to not being able to find the update. Plz fix!

    I have to say i love this game but since the last update it hasnt been performing better unfortunately. the app crashes constantly when i try to switch from the game back to the menu. ive lost at least 1000 mp! this really sucks…what can i do?

    I really liked Mega Jump when I first had it and i completed it all but then, when I updated it, I lost all my MP’s and all my data. Now I can’t find it on the app store aswell, I really hope it can be fixed. :(

    NickCoombe, I am an App developer, too. There is a emergency mechanism in the iTunes Connect which allows you to be reviewed quickly. I hope you can recover soon. Best Regards

    Thanks Ren. Yes, we have used the expedited process, but everything is in Apple’s hands now.

    We have submitted a fixed version of Update 13 to Apple, which we hope will be available next week, and in the meantime we are also busy putting the finishing touches on Update 14, which we will submit to Apple shortly after the fixed Update 13 is released.

    We have removed Mega Jump from the App Store while we make some fixes to the game. It will be back on iTunes soon!
