Get To Know the Powerups in Mega Jump

The world of Mega Jump is filled with powerups. These give you abilities that help you during your epic journey for brief periods of time. They make you faster, relieve some difficulty, and generally bend the rules in your favor. Here’s a breakdown of all the powerups you will come across in Mega Jump:

The Boost Stars

Boost StarBoost stars are plentiful in the world of Mega Jump. Collecting one of these stars gives our hero a boost, sending him careening upwards. Stars come in a variety of colors, each one more boost-tastic than the last: yellow, green, blue and red.

The Winged Boots

Put a spring in your step by grabbing the winged boots. The boots amplify every jump you make – and they even amplify boost stars. The result is bigger, faster jumps that give you a leg up.

The Magnet

Increase your attractiveness with the magnet. When you have the magnet, you’ll notice that coins, stars and even other powerups can’t resist you. Suddenly collecting items becomes easy as taking candy from a baby.

The Balloon

The balloon gives you a little extra girth, but you’ll also be light as a feather. Grabbing this causes our hero to bloat a little. It will let you float upwards at a leisurely pace, plowing through enemies and other obstacles along the way.

The Umbrella

Slow your descent by collecting the umbrella. This powerup lets you float downwards as gently as Mary Poppins, giving you valuable additional seconds to move left or right to catch the next coin.

The Fireball

Hitch your wagon to this and you’ll go sky-high. The fireball sends you rocketing upwards on a ball of flame and smoke. You’ll barrel through coins, powerups and enemies because nothing can stop you with the fireball!

The Supernova

You had better hang on tight for this one. The supernova is not unlike the fireball, but it has our hero rocketing at such break-neck speeds that he becomes the center of an extremely powerful gravity well. Suddenly all objects are drawn to you like moths to a flame. You will gobble up all the goodies in your path – no exceptions!

These powerups are only the beginning. You can look forward to a lot more powerups coming soon to Mega Jump. And if you have an idea for a Mega Jump powerup, we would love to hear it!

Doh, so Supernova = Fireball + Magnet!

  • http://getsetgames.com Derek van Vliet

You got it. Only it's like the magnet on steroids.

Doh, so Supernova = Fireball + Magnet!

You got it. Only it's like the magnet on steroids and you are propelled much faster than you are with the garden variety fireball.

i think it would be really cool if you made a spring or ball power-up. when you pick up the power-up, a ball or spring appears at the bottom of the screen, and will shoot you back up if you fall. i also think you should make a new underwater theme. i think that would be cool!

    Gotta love this game!!!

How much do you get for the golden coins with a red centre?

  • http://getsetgames.com Derek van Vliet

The red-centered coins are worth 5 coins each.

  • Listah

Fantastic game easily the best jump game on the iPhone!!!

    Couple of ideas for powerups:

Golden hoops, you have to try to go through them, if you hit them you go up that same as hitting a coin, if you go through the hole it boosts you up like a small star, if you go through more than one, the boost power increases. If you go through five or more you get a super boost similar to Fireball.

Black Hole, collect this and you have five seconds to collect ten coins, if you do the black hole is activated and you suck up every coin up to two screens ahead of you and then you get super-boosted upwards.

In my experience, the Balloon doesn’t “plow through” enemies, it rather makes it harder to avoid them because you move slower. That makes the Balloon good at the first levels, where there are many clusters of coins (bigger guy, more coins collected!), but makes it much worse on the later levels, where there are more enemies and obstacles to avoid. It’s actually The Winged Boots that make you plow through enemies.

Great game by the way, and after i finally got the Super Magnet, collecting Mega Points became a lot easier ^^

We’re actually correcting how the balloon behaves, since it’s almost impossible to avoid obstacles as a slow moving blimp. It’ll become a lot more “destructive” in a future update :)

What are the thunder clouds? Also, what does the button at the bottom left do?

  • rcteddy

The thunder clouds take away and bad item on you. If you use megapoints to buy stars, they appear at the bottom left.

  • dino

    balloon=fat character=turn stuff to mist

  • Freepoints

Key in v8bdt for 500 FREE mega points!

  • Thatonekidd

X7is0 for 500 pts as well

  • Chantal

I recently started playig any i but the anvils and every time i get through it there are no more coins to jump on . can someone help me out with that.

  • http://getsetgames.com Michael Sandercock

The wall of anvils only appear if you hold your device sideways for an extended period of time. We added this in to prevent players from just holding their devices on its side to easily pass a level or farm Mega Points.

What is the use of buying stars with MP? what can they be used for?

  • http://getsetgames.com Michael Sandercock

You can use Save Starts to save yourself while you are falling. It works like a fireball but you can trigger it right as you are about to fall.

  • Homoud

    P6h6q works too
