Poptweets HD for iPad Will Also Be Available on Day 1

Mar 31, 2010   //   by Derek van Vliet   //   Announcements  //  No Comments

It’s getting dangerously close to April Fool’s day (aka annual-make-the-internet-awful day) so I’ll make this quick to avoid having it confused with the hoaxes: not only are we going to be launching Addicus HD this Saturday April 3 along with the iPad, we are also going to be launching Poptweets HD.

Poptweets HD takes full advantage of the iPad’s large screen to bring you the funniest, most iconic tweets of the celebrities to you in trivia form. We’ve painstakingly re-written all of the tens of thousands of tweets that are in Poptweets (and boy do our wrists hurt), and we’ve re-worked the graphics. The result is a game that is simply stunning on the iPad. And it will have the same great price: Free.

Here are some screenshots to give you a taste:

Just Launched, the Companion Site to the Poptweets iPhone Game

Mar 30, 2010   //   by Derek van Vliet   //   Announcements  //  No Comments

During development of our new iPhone game, Poptweets, we realized that we were going to be generating a wealth of data about celebrities, their twitter habits and how people perceive them. This was when we came up with an idea for a website that would set that data free in interesting and fun ways. gives you the Poptweets experience right in the comfort of your browser. You can track the tweets of all the hottest celebrities on Twitter, discover heavy hitters that you might not have heard of yet and interact with them.

One word you’ll see all over the site is “Iconic”. This is a measure of how recognizable a celebrity’s tweets are according to the players of our game. That’s right: simply by playing the game, you are powering

As well, we have added features that take advantage of the meta data contained in tweets. A good example of this is location data. Many tweets contain location data nowadays, so we figured why not plot that on a Google Map when it is available?

We have a long list of features that we’re going to be adding to the site and the iPhone game so check back often. We would also like to hear what you think so don’t be a stranger.

Mar 23, 2010   //   by Derek van Vliet   //   Announcements  //  No Comments

We are excited to announce that Poptweets is now available for the iPhone and the iPod Touch! You can download it from the app store for free!

Poptweets is a trivia game about celebrities which gets all of its content from Twitter. We take an industrial strength hoover to the tweets of the hottest celebrities on Twitter. Then our elves comb through them and hand-pick the funnest ones to play. The best tweets are then served to you by Poptweets and its up to you to guess which celebrity said them. The result: Poptweets is a trivia game with an endless stream of new content.

Who parties harder, Paris Hilton or P. Diddy? Does Sarah Palin love America more than Michael Moore? Does Britney Spears need more anger management than Trent Reznor? Who really represents the Dark Side, Martha Stewart or Darth Vader?

We hope you enjoy Poptweets and please let us know what you think!
